Orofacial Myofunctional Therapy

Orofacial myofunctional therapy is a therapy modality focused on addressing four major domains including: airway, feeding/swallowing, structure and -speech (Merkel-Walsh 2020) for children 5 and up and adults. Think: tongue thrusting, mouth breathing, and facial muscle strength. Learn more on the Services tab or on the Blog.

Now offering mobile Flexible Endoscopic Evaluation of Swallowing (FEES) in Texarkana and surrounding areas to provide dysphagia patients in our community with an alternative to existing instrumental options available. Check the Services page or Blog for more information.

Well, hello there! Welcome on in. If you’re reading this, I suppose you want to know about me. Here’s what you need to know…

I am a proud grad of Ouachita Baptist and University of Central Arkansas and have been a Speech Language Pathologist since 2015. My husband, and encourager in this business, is Daniel and we have two little princesses, Leighton and Hannah. For over 10 years, I have been immersed in the adult medical SLP word serving patients with neurological deficits like stroke and Parkinson’s Disease and all things related to cognition, swallowing, speech, language, and voice. All. The. Things.

I have been FEES (Flexible Endoscopic Evaluation of Swallowing) trained since 2016. I’ve seen a lot of people’s insides, myself included! FEES is my jam! I also have a newer passion for orofacial myofunctional therapy. I fell down the “myo rabbit hole” and it’s where I live now — I’m never coming out.

I am passionate about caring for people and I believe this to be the ministry God has called me to. With that said, I know who I am uniquely equipped to serve and I can’t wait to get to it. My mission has always been to be a ray of sunshine in the life of someone who may be navigating some of their darkest days. That’s it, THAT’s the mission - to leave people better than I find them.

I’m taking this show on the road and bringing mobile services to those in and around the Texarkana community. So maybe I’ll see you around! If I do, there will be smiles, probably lots of pink, and plenty of JOY to go around for everyone.
